Catechism Study Group

This group meets in Clergy House (Room 2) on every second Monday from 7:00pm – 8.30pm.

Centering Prayer

Sessions of contemplative, silent prayer are conducted by Contemplative Outreach U.K. are held in the Hinsley Room, Morpeth Terrace, on Saturdays between 10:00am and 12:00 noon. For further details please contact Jill Benet on 020 7252 2453, or at jillbenet@hotmail.com.

Chaplet of Divine Mercy

A group meets every week to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy in the Cathedral. This is a popular devotion to the passion of Christ, inspired by the visions of St. Faustina, which emphasises the importance of trust in the mercy and love of God. This group meets every Sunday at 1pm in St. Patrick’s Chapel, and all are welcome to join. Please contact Emmanuel N. Charismatic Prayer Group

An ecumenical Catholic charismatic prayer group meets in the Cathedral Hall every Friday at 7.30pm. The meeting normally lasts until 10pm and is preceded by tea and coffee from 6:30pm. Please contact Kate Moir on 020 8397 3627 for further details.

Christian Meditation

This consists of a talk, followed by a 25 minute session of silent prayer in a small group. The group meets in the Hinsley Room, Morpeth Terrace, on Mondays at 6:30pm. For further details please contact Eileen McDade on 020 7231 6278.

Filipino Club

All are welcome to join the Filipino Club which meets in the Hinsley Room, Morpeth Terrace, on the first Sunday of the month at 1:00pm and 3:00pm on the third Sunday of the month. First Wednesdays – Quiet Days of Prayer

This is a retreat day held in the Hinsley Room, Morpeth Terrace, on the first Wednesday of the month from 12pm – 4.30pm. It involves time for prayer, supported by two periods of input during the course of the day. For further details please contact Eileen McDade on 020 7231 6278.

Friends of Westminster Cathedral

The Friends of Westminster Cathedral supports the Cathedral financially through membership and a wide range of social events. Registered Charity Number 272899. Grandparents Association

This group meets in the Hinsley Room on Morpeth Terrace at 12:00pm on the third Sunday of the month.

Guild of the Blessed Sacrament

This group meets in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel on Mondays after 5.30pm Mass for Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

Guild of St. Anthony

The guild spreads St Anthony’s devotion; assists the poor through St Anthony’s Bread and donations to Cathedral charities.  It meets on Tuesdays after 5.30pm Mass in St Patrick’s Chapel and concludes with a prayer at St Anthony’s Shrine.  All are welcome to join.

Guild of Volunteers

We warmly welcome enquiries for membership of this organisation whose contribution is vital to the work of the Cathedral and its mission as a witness of the Gospel in today’s world. If you have a few hours to spend in offering regular volunteer help during the week or at weekends, there are different types of work available which will help ensure that the Cathedral offers as wide a range of facilities as possible to our many visitors from home and abroad. Interfaith Group

Justice and Peace Group

The Justice and Peace group meets in the Hinsley Room, Morpeth Terrace, on the last Saturday of the month at 1:30pm for prayer and a planning meeting, followed by a talk at 3pm. For further details please contact Mary Woger on 07957386203, or at mwogar@yahoo.co.uk.

Legion of Mary

An apostolic organisation of lay people working to give glory to God through the sanctification of its members and devotion to Our Lady. The Legion of Mary meets in Room 2 of Clergy House on Thursdays at 6:30pm.

Lunchtime Meditation

A half-hour group meditation is held in the chapel of the St. Paul’s bookshop, adjacent to the Cathedral, between 12:30pm and 1pm on Mondays – Fridays. For further details please contact Eileen McDade on 020 7231 6278.

Mass for the Deaf

This is organised by the Diocesan Deaf Service and takes place in Cathedral Hall, Ambrosden Avenue, on the first Sunday of the month at 4:30pm. Monday Prayer Group

Started following the Holy Father's visit in 1982 this group meets after the 10.30am Mass in the Hinsley Room for study of the following Sunday Gospel, discussion and prayer. All are welcome to join.

Mothers and Toddlers Group

Croissants and Christianity: coffee morning with faith and fellowship for those with bumps, babies and toddlers. Join us on Monday morning from 10am to 11.30am in the Hinsley Room. We have a cup of tea and chat while children play, enjoying an opportunity to pray the rosary together, share common concerns and lend each other spiritual support in an informal and friendly context, often benefiting from input from one of the Cathedral priests. It is free and runs during term time and occasionally during school holidays. The Hinsley Room is on the left as you walk down Morpeth Terrace to Francis Street.

Nigerian Catholic Association

The Nigerian Catholic Association helps to strengthen community ties in London and provides support to Nigerian people who worship at Westminster Cathedral. It meets in the Hinsley Room, Morpeth Terrace, on the 4th Sunday of each month at 12pm. Oblates of Westminster Cathedral

This group was founded some years ago by the now Bishop Patrick O’Donoghue, to be Prayer Power supporting the Cathedral and its Mission, participating in that Mission by liturgical and intercessory Prayer. Meetings are held every fourth Sunday in the Hinsley Room, Morpeth Terrace, at 2.30pm, incorporating attendance at the Sung Vespers in the Cathedral, a spiritual address and intercessions. Usually recited in the Lady Chapel Tuesday - Friday following the 5.30pm Mass.

SVP (Society of St Vincent de Paul)

The Society’s mission is to bear witness to Christ’s love and to put his teaching into practice. Members seek to reach out and extend their commitment through person-to-person care for the disadvantaged, neglected and those in need. For more information please e mail svpcathedral@rcdow.org.uk.
